By doing so a constant weak conjunction between Mercury and Mars starts to act.
The two planets will perfectly conjunct each other twice in the near future. Once on the 3rd of September in Leo, while Mercury will still be in retrograde motion, and once on the 16th of September in Virgo, when Mercury will be in direct motion. This odd, or oddly long lasting, conjunction will start fading away on the 21st of September, but it will still be, slightly, active during the Autumn Equinox on the 22nd of the month.
